Privacy Policy

Instagram Following Manager ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users view and manage their Instagram following list. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and what we never do with it.

1. Data We Collect

We collect no user data whatsoever.

The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, crash reporters, or any form of remote logging.

2. How the Extension Works

When you click the Extension icon on instagram.com, it uses your existing Instagram browser session (already stored in your browser's cookies by Instagram) to make API requests directly to Instagram's servers — the same requests Instagram's own website makes on your behalf.

The Extension reads two things, temporarily, in your browser's memory only:

• The list of accounts you follow on Instagram
• The list of accounts that follow you on Instagram

This data is used solely to display the overlay interface and is never stored beyond your browser session. When you close the tab or the overlay, the data is gone.

3. Data Storage

The Extension stores nothing. It does not use localStorage, chrome.storage, IndexedDB, cookies, or any other persistence mechanism. All data is held in memory only for the duration of your session.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties — because we collect no data in the first place. There are no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services embedded in the Extension.

5. Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — required to inject the management interface into the Instagram tab you are currently viewing. Used only when you click the Extension icon. No other tabs are accessed.
• scripting — required to inject the content script into the active Instagram tab. The script reads your following/followers data and renders the overlay interface.
• Host permission (instagram.com) — required to make authenticated API requests to Instagram's servers using your existing browser session, so the Extension can retrieve your following and followers lists on your behalf.

No permission is used beyond its stated purpose above.

6. Your Instagram Credentials

The Extension never asks for your Instagram username or password. It never accesses, reads, or stores your Instagram login credentials. It uses only the session cookie that Instagram's own website has already set in your browser after you log in normally.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy in the future, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
